Sixth Form Students Enjoy Team-Building and Water Sports Social Event
At Frewen College, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Alongside academic learning, we place great importance on helping students develop confidence, independence, teamwork and lasting friendships. As part of this commitment, we were delighted to welcome our Sixth Form students to the first of six planned social and enrichment events taking place throughout the academic year
Following their induction activities, students enjoyed an exciting afternoon of kayaking and aqua park challenges. The afternoon provided an excellent opportunity for students to get to know one another, build relationships and develop teamwork skills in a fun and supportive environment.
The kayaking challenges proved particularly popular, with students taking part in activities such as swapping boats on the water and a highly competitive game of kayak football. While some students demonstrated impressive balance and paddling skills, others spent just as much time in the water as they did in their kayaks, creating plenty of laughter and memorable moments throughout the afternoon.
One of the highlights of the event was seeing students fully embrace the activities and support one another. These experiences play an important role in helping young people build self-confidence, resilience and social skills, all of which contribute to a positive and successful school experience.
As a specialist independent school supporting students with dyslexia and other neurodiverse learning profiles, Frewen College is committed to providing a well-rounded educational experience. Our programme of social events is designed to encourage personal development, strengthen peer relationships and create a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
The day was a fantastic start to the year, and we are already looking forward to the next Sixth Form social event, the Winter Ball next term.
