On Tuesday 16 June, our annual Sports Day brought the whole school community together for an action-packed and memorable occasion. All three Houses competed across 15 events, each aiming to be crowned overall champions and lift the coveted House Trophy. With Lions having dominated in recent years, Oaks and Navy were determined to rise to the challenge.
The day began with a vibrant House parade, as pupils proudly displayed their banners and marched to their chosen music, setting an energetic tone for the competition ahead. Events then commenced, with Years 9 and 10 taking to the track, while Years 7 and 8 showcased their skill and determination in a range of field events.
Bathed in sunshine, the day provided a wonderful opportunity for every pupil to get involved, whether competing, officiating or supporting their peers. Throughout, students demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience, and a strong sense of House pride.
he afternoon brought further excitement, including the introduction of new events such as the endurance relay, which proved both challenging and highly popular. The ever-entertaining parent dash also drew plenty of laughter and enthusiastic support.
In a memorable moment, after ten years of near misses, the staff team finally triumphed in the much-anticipated parent versus staff tug of war, much to the delight of the pupils.
Congratulations to all who took part, and particularly to Oaks, who were crowned overall winners, a fitting end to a truly outstanding day.
