Frewen College

An impressive 79% of all Frewen's GCSE results are grade 9-4!

Following what has been a significantly challenging time for GCSE students and for teaching staff nationally, Frewen College students have once again achieved impressive results in their GCSE and equivalent courses, with a 100% pass rate and with 79% of all grades at 9-4.

Principal of Frewen, Mr Nick Goodman said: “This is a are fantastic achievement for the young people in our school. Even allowing for the variation in top grades nationally, these are the best results ever. It is a testament to the students and staff that the students have exceeded their CAT projections by an average of 1.3 grades, in spite of the fact that, when they joined us, most of them were well behind their peers in mainstream schools because of their dyslexia and related needs.”

Mr Goodman continued: “This illustrates how much progress students can achieve between joining Frewen and completing their GCSEs, and the difference the school has made for them through a combination of specialist provision by dyslexia-qualified teachers, small classes and excellent exam preparation.”

This year, an impressive 100% of Year 11 candidates achieved grades 9-4 in English Literature, Maths, Drama, Geography and PE.

Many of the Year 11 students have stayed on to join Frewen’s Sixth Form and are commencing “A” Level and BTEC courses.
