We have extensive facilities....

Although Frewen College has all the benefits of a small rural school it enjoys a range of facilities that many larger establishments would envy.

Educational

  • A purpose-built modern teaching block.
  • Recently re-fitted ICT suite with flat-screen monitors and interactive whiteboard.
  • A second new IT suite for use by other departments. We now have approximately one PC for every pupil across the school. 
  • ICT provision has been extended this year to three new departments. 
  • Craft and Design Technology Workshop.

  • Our school doctor is just five minutes away.

Sport and Recreation

  • Large out-door swimming pool.
  • Tennis and basketball/ netball court.
  • All-weather floodlit football and hockey pitch.
  • Well equipped Fitness Centre.
  • Access to a new fully equipped sports hall just across the road.
  • Adventure playground for the juniors.
  • Indoor games room with table tennis, table football and pool.
  • A dedicated Playstation room.
  • 60 acres of playing fields, gardens, and grounds, with access to another 100 acres of ancient deer park for camping, runs and nature walks.
  • Mountain bike trail under construction.
  • We are developing a conservation area, sensory garden, and a model fruit and vegetable garden to encourage the pupils to make the most of their surroundings.

Domestic

  • “Five star” in-house catering, one of the first to adopt the 'Nutritional Guidelines for Schools', and accommodating a wide range of specialist diets. As much as possible of our food is resourced locally.
  • 17th Century Grade I listed house and gardens with many outstanding historic features.
  • In-house laundry and cleaning services.
  • We believe we are the only school, specialist, mainstream, independent or maintained, to own its very own original Sedan Chair!
