Principal's Welcome

A very warm welcome to our school. We are all excited by the prospect of the new year ahead of us, and I do hope that you enjoy finding out more about us.
2009/10 was an extremely successful year for Frewen, with our first ever 'Outstanding' Ofsted Report, the successful opening of our girls' boarding house, and some excellent individual performances by pupils in Games and Art competitions. We also had some very good GCSE results, inluding our first 'A*' and we are putting together some exciting development plans.
Our website is regularly updated and will give you a comprehensive insight into our very special school. Please use the site map to find your way around the site: there are over 100 pages, so we cannot promise that everything will be exactly where you expect it to be, or absolutely up to date, but we do try!
Our team has immense experience in helping children from all over the country, and indeed the world, with a range of learning difficulties. Almost all our classroom staff, including Learning Support Assistants, have specialist training, and most have dyslexia qualifications. Our therapists and mentors provide additional expertise on site.
For more than sixty years, Frewen and its predecessor schools here at Brickwall have been providing specialist support for young people with dyslexia and other related difficulties. We believe it to have been the first such school in England, and one of the first in the world.
Please take a little while to learn more about us, and if you would like further information, or to come and visit us, please telephone me, or my PA Annabel Edwards, and we shall be very happy to talk with you. If you would like to download our digital prospectus please click on the link below.
Our Open Morning dates are shown on the News and Calendar pages, but if you think Frewen may be the right school for your child and you don't want to wait, do feel free to get in touch straight away.
I sincerely hope that we are able to help you, and in the meantime please accept my very best wishes for the year ahead.
Linda Smith,
Principal
