New Sixth Form 2013
Frewen's Sixth Form is coming!
Until now Frewen College has not had an in-house Sixth Form, and our pupils have had to move on to other Schools and Colleges once GCSEs are over. However, increasing numbers of pupils and parents have asked us to consider introducing a Sixth Form, and with the changes in school leaving ages fast approaching, we decided the time was right to make the change.
We have therefore announced that we will have a Sixth Form in place for September 2013, although it may be a year later before all the courses are available. We are now putting together an attractive range of course options, and deciding what we can provide in-house, and where it may be preferable to work together with other local Colleges. The announcement has had an excellent reaction from parents and we are all excited about the new opportunities this change will bring.
We will update this page further as our plans become clearer, and we welcome input from our parents and pupils. Please feel free to leave feedback in the 'comments' section here, or telephone or email the school office.
Post 16 Provision Seminar
The school has hosted a seminar by Michael Charles of Sinclairs on the subject of Post 16 provision. Sinclairs is one of the leading firms helping parents to secure appropriate provision for their children, and it is anticipated that some Local Authorities will be reluctant to fund Sixth Form placements. A copy of the seminar handout is available below.
Please note that we shall be happy to provide contact details of a number of solicitors' firms experienced in this field upon request.
