Frewen College ‘steps back in time’ to celebrate 400-year anniversary
Students, staff, parents and the wider community at Frewen College will be holding a very special event to mark the anniversary of 400 years of history at ‘Brickwall House’. The public will be invited through its doors to have a taste of what life was like over the centuries at this important local landmark.
Mr Nick Goodman, College Principal, said: “On Friday October 13th, between 1.30-4pm, Frewen College will play tribute to the many Jacobean, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian people who will have lived, worked and visited the stunning 17th Century house over the passage of time through the centuries. The celebrations will include the students, aged 7-19, putting on a Charity Fun Run in period costume through our beautiful grounds, and we expect to see a large crowd of adults and children transformed into historic characters from the past.”
The historically themed celebrations will include: Mini tour of our beautiful ‘Brickwall House, grand opening of the 17th Century Bowling Alley, Birds of Prey, archery, apple bobbing and the stocks, charity Fun Run in period dress.
Mr Nick Goodman continued: “We are very excited about marking this important milestone in the history of the house and look forward to sharing this with a wider audience.”
